Continuing Education
Continuing education is offered periodically. Topics are selected by discipline and scope of practice (i.e. nursing, social work, respiratory therapy).

Nursing Education
CEU classes are periodically offered at no cost for nursing employees.
American Heart Association Courses (ACLS, PALS) are taught three to four times each year.
BLS Courses are available at no cost for employees
Online education to include annual education requirements and free CEU courses through Healthstream

Diabetic Lunch and Learn
This education class is offered by the Poarch Creek Indians. The Certified Diabetic Educator holds monthly lunch and learn classes in the auditorium on the third Thursday of each month. A healthy lunch is provided by PCI but catering is provided by Atmore Community Hospital Culinary Services.

Weight Watchers
Weight Watchers is held every Thursday in the Atmore Community Hospital Auditorium at 5:00 pm.

Freedom from Smoking
Freedom from Smoking Classes are offered several times a year, and consists of a six-week course with weekly meetings. These classes provide education and support for those with a goal to stop smoking.

Dietary Education
The Wellness program is a community program that provides balanced and nutritious meals, seven days a week. Diets offered include: low sodium, diabetic, and regular meals.

A registered dietitian is available in house and provides nutritional counseling for a wide variety of medical conditions. A physician referral must be obtained to provide counseling.
