Atmore is located in Escambia County, two miles from Florida state line in southern Alabama. Atmore was first recorded as a stop (Williams Station) on the Mobile and Great Northern Railroad. The town was named after C.P. Atmore, General Passenger Agent of the Louisville and Nashville Railroad. The federally recognized Poarch Band of Creek Indians is headquartered in Atmore.

Although Atmore is not the biggest city you may run across, it provides its residents with many of the conveniences of big city living. From fine schools, to great shopping, Atmore is an ideal place to call home.
