Position Summary
The Baylor Registered Nurse provides high-quality, compassionate nursing care while supporting patient care needs throughout the hospital. This position is designed for nurses interested in becoming cross-trained and competent in multiple nursing departments, allowing flexibility in staffing while broadening clinical expertise.
The RN collaborates with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while promoting safety, quality, and excellent patient outcomes.
Essential Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care according to established nursing standards.
Perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as ordered.
Monitor and document patient status accurately and timely.
Respond effectively to changes in patient condition and emergency situations.
Collaborate with healthcare providers and interdisciplinary teams.
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and patient safety initiatives.
Participate in orientation and cross-training opportunities in multiple nursing departments.
Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to provide nursing support where patient care needs are greatest.
Promote teamwork and contribute to a positive culture throughout the organization.
Qualifications
Required
✔ Current Registered Nurse (RN) License
✔ Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program
✔ Current BLS Certification, ACLS/Pals within 6 months of hire
✔ Strong Critical Thinking Skills
✔ Excellent Communication and Teamwork Abilities
✔ Willingness to Cross-Train in Multiple Nursing Departments
Preferred
✔ ACLS Certification
✔ PALS Certification
✔ Previous Medical-Surgical, Emergency Department, Swing Bed, or Acute Care Experience
