Food and Nutrition Department
For the Patient:
Wholesome, nourishing and well-balanced meals are an important part of your treatment and recovery. D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital makes every effort to provide nutritious meals, prepared to your physician's orders, who will prescribe a diet suitable for your medical needs. Substitutions to your meal may be made in accordance with your specific diet. The registered dietitian and dietary staff are available to help you choose food preferences that are suitable for your individual dietary needs.
Patients are served
Breakfast at 7:00 a.m.
Lunch at 12:00 p.m.
Dinner at approximately 5:00 p.m.
IMPORTANT INPATIENT NOTICE REGARDING THE DINING ROOM: To maintain strict level of health and safety standards and to ensure your appropriate diet, we ask our inpatients to please request food and drinks from the nursing staff on their unit.
For the Visitor:
Guests are welcome to purchase meal trays for $5.00 from the business office or to dine in our cafeteria. The hot bar has a variety of selections daily to choose from. Hours of operation are 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday. Tuesday from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The Grill window is open Monday thru Friday from 11:00-1:00 p.m. and again from 5:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.
For the Community:
The Wellness program is a community program that provides balanced and nutritious meals, seven days a week. Diets offered include: low sodium, diabetic, and regular meals.
A registered dietitian is available in house and provides nutritional counseling for a wide variety of medical conditions. A physician referral must be obtained to provide counseling.
